Cookie Policy – Rockstar
Start playingThis policy explains how Rockstar uses cookies and similar technologies on rockstarcasino-officiel.fr. We set a small number of cookies to make the site work and to understand how you use it. You control whether to accept them.
What a cookie does here
A cookie is a text file stored by your browser when you visit a site. It lets us recognise you on return visits without asking you to log in again, and it tells us which pages get read and which don't. Cookies do not access anything else on your device.
We use two kinds: session cookies, which expire when you close the browser, and persistent cookies, which stay until their set expiry date or until you delete them. Neither type collects personal data beyond what you choose to share through a contact form.
Which cookies this site sets
The table below lists the cookies we control directly. Third-party scripts may set their own — those are covered in the next section.
| Cookie name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| session_id | Maintains your session while you browse the site | Session (deleted on browser close) |
| cookie_consent | Records whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies | 12 months |
| language_preference | Remembers your chosen language across visits | 6 months |
Necessary cookies keep the site working — the session token, your language choice. These are set automatically and cannot be turned off without breaking functionality.
Analytics cookies measure traffic and page views through Google Analytics. We use this data to see which sections get read and which need work. These cookies require your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time.
Third-party scripts and their cookies
We embed analytics from Google and advertising tags from select networks. Each of these services may set its own cookies, governed by their respective privacy policies rather than ours. The scripts we load are:
- Google Analytics — measures visits, page views, session length and referral sources
- Google Tag Manager — loads other scripts without changing our own code
- Advertising pixels from partners approved by our compliance team
Third-party cookies operate independently of this site. We choose which services to integrate, but we do not control what those services track once their script runs in your browser. Declining analytics in the consent banner blocks Google Analytics specifically; blocking advertising cookies requires browser-level controls.
Turning cookies off in your browser
Every modern browser lets you block or delete cookies. The settings vary by browser, but the principle is the same: you decide which sites may store data and which may not.
Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data. Choose "Block third-party cookies" to stop trackers while allowing the site's own session token, or "Block all cookies" to disable everything. The site will still load, but you'll need to set your language preference on every visit.
Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data. Select "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" to clear them automatically, or click "Manage Data" to remove specific ones. Firefox's Enhanced Tracking Protection blocks many third-party cookies by default.
Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data. Safari blocks most third-party cookies out of the box under its Intelligent Tracking Prevention system. You can delete all stored data here or remove entries site by site.
Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data. Edge shares Chrome's underlying engine and offers similar controls — block third-party cookies, block all cookies, or delete on browser close.
Blocking cookies does not stop you reading this site. You lose the session persistence and your language setting, but the content itself remains accessible.
The consent banner and what breaks if you decline
When you first visit this site, a banner asks whether you accept analytics and advertising cookies. Necessary cookies are set regardless of your answer — those keep the site navigable. Declining the optional categories blocks Google Analytics and the advertising pixels named above.
What still works when you decline: every page, every section, the contact form, all internal links. What stops: we lose the data that tells us which articles get traffic, and advertising networks cannot tailor what you see. The site functions either way.
You can change your choice at any time by clearing the cookie_consent cookie in your browser settings, which brings the banner back on your next visit.
When this policy changes
We update this policy when we add or remove a cookie, or when we integrate a new third-party service. Changes take effect the day they are published, and we note the revision date at the bottom of the page. We do not notify you separately — check this page if you want to know what is current.
Contact
Questions about how we handle cookies belong to [email protected]. We respond within 48 hours. For questions about third-party cookies, contact the service that set them — their privacy policies are linked from the scripts we named above.
